Playing catch up - Part II

If and when the stunt monkees ever find new homes, I'm hoping that they'll remain in touch .... or their people will, and won't be afraid to get their monkee on in public (then obviously send me pictorial evidence).

Like HP1 has done here ......

POSTCARDS FROM HP1

Roaming round Rhodes .....well, planning the route, anyway

I just LOVE this picture! It reminds me of this ..... hands up anyone old enough to remember it - be honest now!

HP1, up bright and early, in time to bagsy the best lounger

..... and he's one up on me ..... I've never tasted Retsina (although obviously I'm keen to try it now!)

...... aaahhhh, feeling the wind in one's hair blowing back one's ears!

Simply smashing! Many Thanks for giving me a glimpse of Rhodes, some glorious sunshine and a new beverage for me to investigate, HP1 and Co. And everyone else please take note : the ultimate plan is for monkees made of knit to take over the world ..... but please send photos!!

And finally, as these holiday snaps were so great, I'm going to forgive HP1's person for also sending me this a while back .....

Hmmmm

Okay, clearly this is a cultural reference - is that a little towel on HP1's head knotted into a little swim cap? I followed your link, but the cartoon doesn't shed much more light on the issue. I'd be old enough to remember it had I only grown up in the right part of the world...

HaHaHa MM! Had to show CK your card at the bottom, we sent that one to my mother for her birthday last year!

If you rehome a stunt monkey down here in the wilds of Durzet I faithfully promise to let it feel the wind regularly blow through his ears. Hanging from the washing line counts, right?

HaHaHaHa Oops! Ck and Princess C-W have just pointed out that they gave me this card!

The one we sent Sylv had people wondering how quickly they could take off their handknits after photo (way funnier on the card!).

Perhaps with this memory I am not actually suitable guardian for livewire stunt monkee. I may leave him hanging from cliffside and all monkee muscles may not be sufficiently developed like 007....

Oh, I remember that, so funny! Your stunt monkeys are having a great time, doesn't one of them want to learn to ski or snowboard? It would save me trying to decipher the pattern> No3 son has already stolen 2 of Michaelas squares for a blanket for his (as yet not knitted) monkey!

Ooooooh Mad Girl, does this mean those stunt monkeys are going on sale in the future????? I can see a line of us camping outside for weeks waiting for their release! Lucy x

Great pics of HP1 and I love the Monkee world domination vision!
Of course I'm not old enough to remember that particular public information film. BTW who are you calling Monkee bum?

Being old enough yet born in the wrong region, all the handkerchief-on-HP1-head pic reminds me of is/are Monty Pythons's sketch(es).
("My brain hurts!")

Oh, and as for the camping before the monkee sale begins - I'll bring homemade muffins (hehehe).

So those monkees made of knit travel well, too... No end to their talents!!! :D

Rest assured, I'm doing my bit in the quest of knitted monkee world domination lol :) I've already got requests to knit at least 3 more :) Might even be brave enough to have a go at the smaller version... If I ever get my brain cells working properly enough for the conversion lol.

Oooh, that's one well-travelled HP1! And I do like the knotted handkerchief - it's a true sartorial statement.

Also, re: washing machines - I never realised your stunt monkees were so famous. Did they really stunt-double for the tea-drinking one? Wow. I feel quite star-struck :o)

(BTW, you've given me a BRILLIANT idea! Forget the fiddly wool and tiny needles; you could make more mini-monkees by boil-washing average HPs! No?)

Nice to see that HP1 is carrying on the monkeemaker lifestyle abroad - derfinitely the start of world colonisation!

lol, :ay up Petunia, look at our shep chasing those sheep, he's having a great time" (or whatever the dogs name was), yes I remember Petunia, I can still hear the slurp of her icecream!!!
I'm new to your blog so Q1. what does HP mean? and Q2. do you sell your monkies (or is that Monkees?)
:-)

That little head-ker-chief reminds me of the time (maybe 2 years ago?) that the President of Italy got plugs/a hair transplant! Does anyone but me remembe the crazy pictures of him sporting a "doo-rag"?!

ps: Maryland would be a WONDERFUL Stunt-Monkee-Safe-Haven. And we at WMK reeeally like posting pics too!

Thanks for the comments on my blog - I don't have shake free hands and often am wonky, but I have become a master of disguising cack.

The best thing about having CFS as opposed to MFS, which frankly sounds far worse, is that I forgot all the October posts I'd read yesterday so it was like discovering the blog all over again. Bonus!

HP6 would be most welcome to visit me across the pond! :D

Thanks for the laugh today! :)

I am definitely old enough to remember this gem; in fact I am also celebrating my 60th this year. The BBC did approach me with an offer of a free keyring in exchange for sole rights to my early photograph albums, but I have turned them down. I'm holding out for a keyring, a pen and a boxed set of Mrs Dale's Diary.

hi-re the monkey, he picked out yarn today, blue? So I think it might be a done deal, I'll keep you posted.

You so know if I ever got my hands on one of your stunt monkees that it would be allowed access all areas in my small and sometimes barmy existence and would definitely keep in touch to spill all my secrets. Hint hint.

hmmm, little known fac that muffin recipe is really a very simple creature - I'm just saying is all! ;-P

At first I thought HP1 was sick and "ickied" on the paper, what a relief to find it is just a map of far off lands.

I'm sure HP1's person didn't mean YOU, I'm mean who wouldn't love a knitted monkee. It must have been a gentle reminder to not waste your talent on silly things like scarves and such- but to conitnue on the bold path of (knitted)Monkee domination of the world.

Would an HP like to visit Elvis? I have connections. Or perhaps we can arrange a Semester abroad and teach the little Monkee everything he needs to know about sunny Southern California? I truly enjoy all the Monkee adventures at home and on holiday.

I for one would like to offer a stunt monkey a god home... I am in thw wilds of suburban Melbourne, Australia.
am not able to queue for a SM in person, but if I could do so in absentia.....

have also taken needles to fibre, in order to temporarily quench the monkee mania.

....1 is lonely, 2 is a pair, 3 is a collection, or mania...
