Press release - 17th January.
Following the success of Take Thats re-forming...it looks as if the Monkees may have done the same (although the one who used to wear a wooly hat seems to have had liposuction and turned into a penguin!) Following a sellout tour, they performed gigs all over Rochdale and are now planning to repeat their success in Scotland but their manager (aka Meg) has had trouble getting permission to fill the back seat of the car with all their instruments.

That brilliant photo and press release from Meg's Mum just cracks me up. MM has bought two of my monkees and also knitted one of her own and I think it's great that she and Meg have cooked up this monkee (and penguin) group!
Talking of cooking, I also love these other pictures she sent me ......
And I'm loving these snaps that Gladys sent me, of her winning monkee, Rambo .....
..... so named because on his arrival he was bursting his way out of his packaging .....
..... a monkee on a mission ......
Rambo ..... don't you think the likeness is amazing?
...... no wait .... why's it all gone dark??
..... aha ..... mission accomplished ......
Continuing to spread the love, how about these guys ..... a couple of monkeys that I didn't knit .....
Ann in Belgium knitted this one for her Dad - what a cutie ..... the monkey - not her Dad ..... (although he may be too, I don't know .....)
And Sarah knitted this handsome chap in vibrant red ......
Sarah and Natalie also gave me this link, Crafty Threads 'n' Yarns Knit a Monkey knit-a-long a forum for knittists who are making their own monkeys. A place to share tips and hints, and presumably despair over that pesky mouth .....
And the final photo, received last night after HP36 arrived at Dottycookie's. Who couldn't love this one ......
..... oh, the cuteness - those tiny hands! ......
Many thanks to Meg's Mum, Gladys, Ann, Sarah, Natalie and DC for sharing these pictures and links with me ..... please keep them coming.
HUGE thanks too, to anyone who visited my shop this week to purchase a monkee ..... especially to those people on the other side of the pond ..... one of whom stayed up until 2.40 am to bagsy one, another set her alarm clock for 3.45 so she wouldn't miss out, and someone else staggered out of bed at 4.20. Sheer dedication to monkee madness ..... or just sheer madness? I don't know, but I'M LOVING IT!!

Fab post MM - I'm loving it too :)
Glad to see HP36 has found such a loving home!
I now have to go an lurk on the monkee knitters' forum ;)
Moogsmum xx
Thank you so much for putting my dad's monkey on your site. Dad loves him, and named him Kaduuk. That' a Flemish description for anything that has a few dents.
Kaduuk now wreaks havock in my dad's hobby/computer room.
I've already started one for myself. I don't know how you make them so fast, mine take so long. And I have 20+ years of knitting experience under my belt!
Mine looks like he's going to be an Atticus once he gets put together and stuffed.
Keep up the good work, you've made our day!
Ann
You are taking over the world, one gorgeous monkey and besotted owner at a time.
Maybe I need a proxy buyer next time.
Love the food of knit - well done Meg's mum! :o)
How content does HP36 look in his new home?! Bless
As ever...laughing all the way!!!
Love the photos - Rambo Monkee is fabulous isn't he? He looks so like Sylvester Stallone, you'll have to make a 'Rocky' monkee too, complete with lurid shorts and boxing gloves :-D
I'm still stroppy that I missed out on the monkee in the pants. Trying not to have a tantrum. :-( x
Loving all your monkey pics, they have such personalities.
I am glad to see that I was not the only nut up before 5:00 am staring at my computer waiting for monkeys!
Someone set their alarm? See what you have reduced these grown-ups too? Your plans for world domination seem to be gaining strength!
HP36 (mowe know as "Monkee" - how original) has been hobnobbing with boggers today - he tagged along for morning tea with Gina from Fan My Flame! He tried to steal the food but my little one fought him off with a teaspoon. Got to show them who's boss ...
Love the Monkees band - what a great idea! And there is definately more than a passing resemblance between monkee Rambo and that other bloke!
DC's little one's little hands are perfect for monkey cuddling. How sweet!
Great monkee-y-ing around shots! Glad to see world domination continues! Lucy x
Monkee world domination is definitely gathering speed: it must only be a matter of time, now.
... so let's just hope that us monkee fans are treated kindly once the monkees are in charge... (of course, they may want to hold some of us to account for our crimes of monkee abuse... but time will tell, I suppose).
;o)
VCxx
Have any of you seen "Planet of the Apes"?
Just sayin'
This side of the pond is on tenter-hooks waiting for our monkee (HP33) to arrive. (I believe he was posted today, so we had the good sense not to be holding our breath) tenterhooks will do. The primate herd at this address is all lined up waiting for inspection of the new fella.
Ha. love the post! Monkees rule! Patti's comment worries me though. I recorded the POTA movies the other day! Should I be afraid?
I'm sure that knitted monkee stuffed with fluff has a higher IQ than the real Rambo(not meaning to offend any Slyvester Stallone fans.
AWESOME and ADORABLE!! Loved your monkey business. ;)
I have just given you and your cheeky monkee's a much deserved award...pop over to my blog and collect it...
very exciting!!
Forgot to ask. What's the name of the band? "Monkees" Ha ha. Which is the Davey Jones one?
excellent! the further advetures of the stunt monkees, lol.
I did it I finally made a sock monkee, he's on my blog, just promise not to laugh, He's like the first pancake!! (not flat and edible obviously, just full of mistakes)
There sure are some crazy monkeys out there which is a very good thing as it makes the world a much nicer place !
Love the monkeys and their different personalities. the link looks interesting too. Jane x
