Well, what a wet and dismal weekend we enjoyed here in Bristol. The kind of weekend where you go a little stir-crazy at home and end up doing something mad, like trying to bake muffins (idiot). Or suggesting to your family a monster challenge.
Sensibly RBD1 declined (she had other pressing issues to attend to, such as MSN, BeBo, applying false nails, and watching 18 DVD's), but RGH and RBD2 were up for a monster-off.
Please note though, that the following are not proper monsters. Heavens to Mergatroid no. They're amateur monsters that could fall apart at any second ...... well, RGH's could. If it's proper monsters you're after, get yourself over to Monda's blog or her Etsy shop and you'll find professional monsters galore.
Anyway, on with the faux monster mayhem ......
007 and No. 11 were intrigued .......
And they were out of there as fast as their little knitted legs would carry them. (Not very as it turns out)
Since the weekend there have been many heated discussions and babyish arguments about whose monsters are the best (mainly by a man who shall remain nameless), so I thought it only fair that an unbiased judge should get the final say.
Would this terrible twosome, by RBD2, win the challenge?
And the winners are ........
Mieke was also impressed by RBD2's work-in-progress monster ......
And the loser? Definitely this banana abomination .......
Talking of monkeys ........
So if you haven't already done so, get over to this post and leave a winning caption for the picture on there, and you could win this pink monkey. (The one made of knit). I'll pick the winner tomorrow morning.

Great monsters! Thank goodness there were no monkey monsters.....
Can't stop laughing...! love the monsters, and the monkeys!
You just get funnier and funnier! 007 and no.11's discussion is hilarious!
monsters are great, with or without woodglue *gasp* woodglue? really? teeheehee! You all must have been very busy, a real little monster factory :-)
I didn't realise that the pouch order was from the famous monkee maker! It's all packaged up already and will go ot the post office tomorrow :-) I hope you like it xxx
I love this story - most excellent :o) although I don't necessarily agree with Mieke on this one - I think the winner should have been the turquoise monster with the big mouth - perhaps he was just scared of the competition and picked monsters that would make him look good - so fickle. This is what happens when they fly the nest (do monsters live is nests?)- they start getting ideas all of their own.

Very funny ! And anything made with woodglue should be ruled out immediately. Hope Mieke has recovered from the shock by now :-)
I found your site a while back through little cotton rabbits - your monkeys (and monsters) never fail to bring a smile to my face! They live more interesting lives than I do (alas). Thank you!
I love all of the monsters - it must have been fun over at ypur place while the monster making was going on!
