Random Monkey Shot #19
Since RBD1 turned 15 in September, RGH and I have been threatening to have a night out, and last night was that night.
We scraped ourselves off the sofa, threw on some glad rags and ventured out into the dark December night, for a few drinks and to go and see an amateur production of Ben Elton's Silly Cow.
While I don't want to ruin the story for anyone who may be thinking of going (plus I was taught that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all) I'll just say this ..... the pre-show Belgian beers were delightful, the play was two hours long, the pizza afterwards was sublime and the bus ride home was entertaining with a drunk couple on there loudly ranting and raving. (No, it wasn't us.)
And while we were out the RBD's and their friend all scared themselves silly watching spooky films.
All in all, I don't think we'll be rushing out again next Saturday night. After all, this really is a comfy sofa ......
..... by the way, this isn't a picture of a silly cow - it's a silly reindeer, taken by my Dad in Scotland last year, but it'll have to do .....

At first I thought RGH had developed some sort of weird rainbow-esque disease of the upper limbs. They are going to be wonderful monkeys :-D x
oh dear. was it that bad? At least it was time out alone with your boy . That has to be compensation right?
And rainbow monkeys - that is branching out.
Well, at least you had a night out together :-)
Pretty colorful those new monkeys made of knit !!!!!
Is that going to be one rainbow monkee or several different coloured ones? Either way, they'll be gorgeous!!
Glad you enjoyed the pizza. Not giving the day job up to become a critic then?
Nice silly rheindeer :)
Loving the lurid limbs! Lucy x
Yay for a night out without the offspring.
I don't know why those monkee parts make me think of the Multi Colour Swap Shop - will the next one be called Cheggers? Or, appropriately for the season, Noel...?
Now we've moved out the city, it is just too comfy on our many sofas so hard to get up the energy to get up and go out in the cold of an evening!!!
I'm worried that there is an imposter out there in Blogland, I googled for Monkee and found this sight which is trying to pass cats off as Monkees http://monkee.typepad.com/photos/monkees/orange_at_window_2.html

Love the rainbow monkey limbs, done 400 miles back and forth to work and off to Dorset for the weekend to visit the aged P's in my car.
Glad you and RGH got to go on a date last night - it sounds lovely (especially the pizza) :o)
Great picture of Mr Monkee-Hand, too (if a little creepy!) I echo previous comments in wondering whether it is one multi-coloured primate, or a production line of several different ones...? Either way, I look forward to seeing which it is when you have finished :o)
VCxx
New monkees.....can I blackmail you into getting one?
I'm going out tomorrow - whoo, it's exciting!
I think Ben Elton is rubbish, so I'm not surprised you didn't enjoy his play!!! :)
Not so keen on beer ( bit sophisticated me! he!he! not really! my fave tipple is pear cider)- I told you I was classy!
and Mmmmmm pizza! I had a very posh pizza on friday from Fire and stone in London. Anyway just popped in to say, I havent forgotten about your gift, I've just been really busy, I will be finished soon! xx
Oh wow look at those colours!! I think I need one of each colour please x
Rainbow limbs...Mmmm interesting!!!:-)
A huge thank you for my Christmas cards I ordered from you, they are even better in real life and I think eveyone who adores 007 should order a pack or two!!!

*Unrelated to your very interesting post*
More Galaxy chocolates please!
ps: LOVE the Monkee goods too : )
see??! "loving the lurid limbs, lucy" yeah. she's goooooood! :)
using your high-minded principle of "...if you can't say something nice..." i shall remain resolutely silent on the subject of mr. ben elton. (a MUSICAL...about *football*...with a score by andrew-lloyd webber...uh-huh...'nuff said...) (ok, MOSTLY silent!) but then pizza, beers, and drunken bus passengers are surely enough entertainment for ANY couple who've not left the house alone for 15 years, anyway, aren't they??! :)
...really COMFY & snuggly-based couches are soooo under-rated...
