It's beginning to look a lot like .....

..... no matter how carefully you put away the Christmas lights last year, they'll still look like this .....

.... this year ....

Yesterday, RGH went out for two - yes TWO - Christmas meals. And I went out for none. He had one or four beers while he was out and I had NONE while I was in, as I was his taxi for the evening. I'm not bitter though. Even though I think it's probably against the law not to imbibe at least one glass of white on a Friday evening. But as I say, I'm not bitter. Much.

Anyhoo. While he was out, I thought it might be nice to "trim up". I asked for volunteers .....

.....ooh, ooh, pick me, pick me!

007 and 27 really got into decorating the tree .....

...... and 27 also got into the Christmas choccies ......

(I don't mind - as long as he eats all those Bountys)

While 007 wasn't too impressed when he became a decoration ......

...... oh, the indignity of it all ......

There was quite a lot of debate about what should go at the top of the tree. RBD1 was freaked out by the spooky looking Angel we have, while RBD2 didn't like the tacky star.

Luckily, I came up with a solution that everyone agreed on ......

..... it could start off a whole new trend .....

After the hard work, we all relaxed with a hard-earned drink .....

..... although I think that maybe one whole can was too much for 27 ......

...... maybe a half-pint would have been better for this half-pint!

Did I already mention that I was driving?

..... well, I guess it was a glass of white. *Sigh*

And I'm happy to report that Christmas is now officially upon us here at Chez Monkee Maker, after we finished off the evening with a viewing of this .....

..... awwww ......

By the way ..... the monkees didn't really decorate the tree ..... but these two monkeys did .....

..... and they made a brilliant job of it.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Your tree looks great, I always start out the xmas celebrations by watching that movie and White Christmas, the boys love it....NOT!!
I might tree decorate tomorrow, need to rope the monkeys (boys) into it though, bribery usually works, must buy chocolate ;0)

You know something? I kinda like the Monkee as Angel - complete with golden garland halo.

Oh, look: doesn't that read like a shop advertisement??

Since we will be away visiting DS and D-I-L (& almost first grandbaby) over Christmas we needn't plug in our tree this year. Who-ray for us. We have an artifial tree so when it comes to "doing" the tree, we pull it out of the closet and "plug it in" and its "done". My idea of a perfect tree!!!
I did enjoy seeing your decorators made of knit with the garland of gold around their little necks!
I'm working on a new munkeh and this time I'm using your amended directions. Hopefully this munkeh will not take after the baboon side of the family.

Oh I do hope HP27 didn't feel too ill this morning.

Love the tree. Never mind about the lack of wine, you have something now that RGH owes you for. Any favours you need?

Ooh the tree looks so nice... good decorating, ladies! And what a festive evening - if a little too sober for your liking.

Praps you can make up for it tonight instead, eh? ;o)

This is a technical comment! I have just sent you an email at 7.10pm - let me know when it arrives as they seem to be taking about 24 hours which is longer than the postal service between us!!! Lucy xx

What great helpers you have I wish mine were that good my son always gets everything out - puts 2 decoration on the tree spreads every other decoration all over the house then gets bored and goes out. I think 007 and 27 would be more help.

Lovely tree MM - in the end...
I thought your monkee angel was perfect and may have to dress up a PG one for this next year!
Poor HP27 - your first hangover is always the worst. You'll get used to it ;)
Very commendable being sober for taxi-ing Mr MM. I'd have been tempted to tell him to walk!!

Ooh, I LOVE the monkee as star/angel tree topper. What about a monkey in an angel costume...? I might try that.

I love the tree and I think that 27 should stay there with the tinsel wrapped round his head - but maybe you'd better let him sober up first since he may not be too good at heights!!

I love the top of your tree, although Vera has flatly refused to cooperate and is still cuddling Father Christmas in the Stashbasket. I have tried bribing her with tinsel, but nothing doing! Perhaps I'll have more luck bribing her with Stella instead! I've never seen that film, keep missing it on the telly. I'm more of an 'Elf' girl myself. Will Ferrel is just brilliant in all he does.

Did I happen to say eralier that the bounties were very welcome to come to my house for a little friendly visit?

ooohhh I've got those glasses too! I'm intrigued by your funky wall art and need a picture to nosey, sorry check it out ;)

I see 27 looked comfy on top of the tree, you must have been more considerate than my lads who taught the little ones a lesson they won't forget!

Love your tree!
