Not nearly as contentious a post

Well, the hatches have been well and truly battened down here at Monkee Towers following that last post. Some people seem to be recruiting for a rescue mission to free the incarcerated 007, while others are holding protests about monkey cruelty.

Has the world gone mad??

Quite clearly 007 was simply in training for his next secret mission ..... word on the spare room carpet is that Dennis and the other monkee misfits are disgruntled by 007 hogging the monkee limelight and are planning an uprising. And Trashalou's comment last time was scarily right on the money. Trashalou, do you have the third eye??

Talking of which, last weekend RGH and I thought we'd do something completely different. So we went out for coffee and muffin with a completely different monkee (well, 007 was still hanging around somewhere ....)

This stunt monkee (I can't remember which number it is ..... I really need to sit down with a pencil and work it out) is red, and was inspired by Kaz's Wonky ......

Plus, I thought he would match RGH's fleece top beautifully

RGH chose a seasonal spiced muffin (that's it, over there), while I opted for the classic Raspberry and White Choc Chip, which HP? studied intently ......

Noting the deep raspberry hues and the tantalising white choc chip in the middle ......

Well, he would have done, if he wasn't a MiP (monkee in progress) and I hadn't run out of eyes .....

What?! That's not more monkee torture ..... surely at worst it's only monkee teasing!

Today's thought for the day is a doozie for parents everywhere ......

(..... ok .... maybe just me then?)

Poor monkey. But then I suppose the important thing about muffins is how they smell and taste, how they look is not nearly as important.

That is one fab colour for a monkey. Who could harm a scarlet primate?

Aww a monkee with no eyes. Struggling to find a joke there, Im convinced there's one there but it's just not happening for me. Perhaps its too early in the day for wit.
Love the red monkee. Is he raspberry flavoured? Bet he tastes like liquorice.

In the spirit of the Christmas Season I must say your choice of color for this monkey made of knit was perfect!

"Atta girl"

he's super cool looking even without eyes, all he needs is a pair of shades : )

I'll let that one pass. At least he could sniff the muffin - as it were!
I think the red suits him. Give him a fluffy white beard and he could be Monkee Christmas.
Is eye shopping on the MM agenda today?
You'll be glad to know things have calmed down here and no further protests are imminent. I think.

p.s. that thought for the day is me too!!!

p.p.s. word verif - tmeby?
yes please, milk no sugar and can I have a scone with that?

What a horrible sight,a monkey without eyes ! You could have given him sunglasses at least !
Well, smell and tast are really important but such a muffin is surely a feast to the eye as well !

hahahahahaha ... I laughed out loud when that monkey turned round and had no eyes. My youngest (off school with the lurgi) came running to see what had amused me, and is, quite frankly, disgusted that I could laugh at a poor blind monkey. *blush*

That muffin looks so scrummy I've got to go and eat something now.

:-) x

I quite like the lack of eyes - he'd be useful in a secret mission in the dark where you need to use your special monkey sniff senses....and don't think you can try and distract me by pictures of beautiful red monkees, my mission still stands and 007 is still mine mwaah ha ha ha ha h ha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaha ha haaaa

If the rest of the blogosphere can post WIPs, you can surely post pictures of MIPs. :o)

Now, please, go get that monkee some eyeballs: it's creeping me out.

Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

(I'm just saying is all!)

Love the red monkee but come on Mrs MM - how long would it have taken you to sew on his eyes before going out, hmmmm? Not long really don't you agree? A pretty humiliating thing to do to a monkee made of red knit, taking him out with no eyes and all. Think on young lady.

i think the definitive "eyeless monkee joke" for which suzyb was searching might be:

"what?! shouldn't the one who hears no evil *and* the one who speaks no evil get a muffin as well??!"

...or possibly not... :)

actually i think it's best to hold off as long as possible in giving said monkee her peepers...afterall, she may experience some anxiety when she reflects upon the way in which raspberry-hued-substances tend to be devoured at monkee towers! (at least she doesn't have white chocolate SPOTS as well!) :)

lauren bergold said...

OOF! actually her ears, paws & snout ARE distinctly "white chocolatey" aren't they??! ...yeah...you should hold off on the eyes...and tell HP? she had best strive really really hard *not* to smell muffiny!!!

oh my gosh! I have to say a monkee with no eyes is a disturbing sight...:) Cute but disturbing.

"Eyeless in Gaza" springs to mind, but I'm not sure if there is a Gaza Muffin House in Bristol..

See no muffin.... :)

Hmmm, maybe Lauren is onto something with the idea of muffin-based colour schemes for monkees... perhaps next you could do a double choc chip one... and then a blueberry.... and then a banana and chocolate... Just think how many muffins you could eat for research purposes!

Oh dammit, why did I bang on about mufins so much? I'm hungry now...

quite spooky without the eyes!!
but he's a grogeous colour.
love today's quote.

what do you call a deer with no eyes? no eye-deer (idea). doesn't really work with monkeys

I am sure that one day you will perform a miracle and the monkey will be able to see!!

Poor monkey, but not having eyes isn't going to hold her back, bet there wasn't any muffin left after she'd sniffed its gorgeous smell
