I really really need a wee .....

...... sorry - I mean Wii .....

Last weekend we went to visit some friends who have one of these new fangled game thingies, and it was a revelation to me. Never normally one for computer games, this one was different. I was hooked. And I wasn't the only one .....

RGH working that pink Wii controller

Like all games, it can be a tad frustrating when you lose ......

RGH being a bad loser

But what I was most impressed with is that it's like a workout at the gym! The next day we were aching in places we didn't even know we had! Although that could have had more to do with my playing style .....

Notice how my opponent is casually standing still while I was throwing myself all over the shop ..... it's all in the wrist action apparently ......

And it comes with some really cool accessories, like this oh-so-handy golf club ......

Oh - and did I happen to mention I was excellent at bowling? Those scores speak for themselves ....... read up and weep, RGH, read up and weep ..... oh no, wait - he already did ......

Of course, my new bessie mate, Martin LaFelt came along too .....

..... but he preferred playing with their guinea pigs ......

Martin LaFelt .... King of the hairy pigs

So, what with the flowing wine, the good conversation, the laughs ..... but let's face it ..... mainly the Wii, a good time was had by all. I'm sure the girls would have loved the Wii too ..... if only they'd been given a chance to go on it ..... maybe next time .....

Here's a little something for the weekend ......

..... a sneak preview of the new chimp in town, who will be up for grabs on Monday. (Don't get too excited though - it's not another giveaway ..... all will be revealed early Monday morning.)

Right, now where did I leave my purse, I'm off for some Wii-tail therapy .....

HP33 arrived in the NW USA today. I think he made pretty good time. He hasn't told me what his name is yet. I guess we need to get to know each other a bit first.

If you like to see his arrival at his new home please have a look at froglegsnvaseline.

thanks MM!

I met a friend of mine recently - she was limping quite badly. Naturally I asked after her apparent injury - which turned out to be a pulled muscle courtesy of playing on a Wii :-D Some friends of the kids have one - they are nagging me to get one, but I think it might be Christmas before one appears ;-)

Laughed out loud at the bowling scores - oh dear, RGH is going to want revenge for that. And what a piece of luck that a guinea pig is just the right size for Martin!

Latest chimp looks gorgeous! x

Isn't that terribly kind of the Wii people (not in a Terry Pratchett sense though) to have a included a Monkee sized golf club.

Perhaps in your next Wii post we could have 007 demonstrating?
(suggest Martin LeFelt hide first as have seen what happens at your house when the troops go looking for a ball!!)

We are lovers of the Wii chez Moog!! The kids were very spoiled and had one for Christmas from their Grandparents.
My favourite is the tennis as I can feel it working those muscles!

Moogsdad gets very cross as he cannot beat me at boxing - HA!

Minx is the house bowling champ - she scored 187 to my pathetic 84 - may be something to do with her being able to bowl straight - I struggle with that bit :)

Martin Lafelt King of the Hairy Pigs nearly made me spray toast all over the 'puter!!!

I too had my first Wii experience this week (at a friends house) and I know what you mean about the work out - I was sweating just from bowling (although maybe the house was just warm). I also trashed the competition when it came to bowling - the boys couldn't believe it, although I was pretty rubbish at tennis
Both me and Mr Monda came away saying 'we have to get one of those'. Damn that Nintendo and their cunning addictive toys!

Gosh... what fun! I have no time for computer games but that looks brilliant. Now why haven't my boys got one?

Thanks for looking by my blog this week... your name is in the hat for that give away!

I'm still not convinced Twisted Towers need a Wii... I think I'll let you do a little more research lol.

I hope 007 didn't read the 'new bessie mate' bit you said about Martin LaFelt... I'm a bit worried about what he might do to the poor little thing...

Love the look of the fuzzy fella.

I am so totally sympathizing with you! Neatnik's school did an ice skating outing yesterday afternoon.

I can hardly move today - she's just fine.

Enjoy the Wii-tail therapy!

We haven't got to Wii territory yet but did treat the children to a long awaited Playstation2 for christmas. But, as I had expected, it caused so many arguments that it has been in hiding for the last two weeks! They don't know where it is and harmony seems to be restored! It's definitely going to have to be a "high days and holidays" kind of toy!!!!

So pleased to see your new Bessie Mate having fun!

'fraid we're still stuck on xbox but Wii does sound good.... love Martin Lafelt riding the guinea pig he's nearly as fearless as 007! New monkey looks good. Jane x

Oh, so that's what Wii is! Nice to see Martin LaFelt out adventuring, too.

I too am desperate for a wii. Methinks I need to save up all my pocket money to purchase one. Cept even though I regularly do the dishes and tidy my room, no one seems to give me any.

Not sure about the comment about Martin Lefelt riding a guinea pig, I think it could be re-phrased, I have a dirty mind and was just forced to use it then.

Ah well, back to cleaning the coal scuttle and scrubbing the floors...

I love the way they put the wrist strap on the controller just in case you throw it through the television. Newest monkee looks very interesting.

We have had a wii in the house for a few weeks and I know about those aches in strange places.
I just wish they had called it something else "mum wanna challenge me to wee?"

Oh yes the WII I have some experience with this ploy to get me off the couch. Interesting tease with this new monkee.

Oh no - not you too! I have thus far resisted the charms of the Wii but I don't think it will be long before I am curious enough to have a go.

Love the look of the new monkee!

Ooh, well done on your wii bowling triumph... I've only ever had a go on the tennis and I couldn't get the hang of the serving technique - which made for quite a short game :o(

Glad you had fun though, and if you did go out for some wii-tail therapy, then I hope you'll all enjoy having a wii in your own home ;o)

PS. Love your cardigan - very pretty!

I really need a wii too! Working on hubby for that one.

The new chimp looks cute. I only found your blog the other day and love your monkees.

I am a wii bowling queen! Okay, in my own mind but it is so much fun!!! I hope you got your wii-tail therapy completed!!! I can't wait to see what you unveil next!!!

I tried desperately to find a Wii for my husband's 40th birthday, but was not successful - every place I checked seemed sold out. Just as well, really, given the Short One's propensity for button pushing and throwing things right now... Good to hear that it has the Monkee Maker stamp of approval - maybe for Christmas...
