This time last week .....

..... we were in Tenby, staying in a recently converted pump house. A place which, if I'm being honest, was much too nice for the likes of us .....

..... the oh-so-stylish lounge .....

..... the stunning kitchen (RBD2's picture) ......

..... our romantic bedroom ...... that's RGH's and mine - not the monkee's and mine, by the way ......

..... yes, this picture has been Picasa'd to make it even more romantic .....

The RBD's bedroom ......

It was so beautifully furnished too. Using the medium of collage (which may be happening a lot from here on in), here are some of the lovely touches that made me want to come home and re-vamp our place ......

..... I didn't though - much too like hard work .... I just wanted to .....

There was even something to keep 007 amused ......

..... he likes sheep ..... remember Shaun??

After checking out some of the sights of Tenby, 007 decided that he'd mostly be staying back at the ranch playing with the sheep during our weekend ......

.... while we all had fun in the sun ......

.... with a muffin .....

..... sunbathing .....

..... rock-pooling ......

..... rock-climbing ..... and looking slightly nervous about all those mussels .....

..... fishing ..... and looking even more perturbed to be used as bait .....

..... I have nothing to say about this picture ......

But this one ..... a muffin eating a cinnamon swirl .....

..... is that cake cannibalism??

Sorry about the picture heavy post ..... are you still there? Just a few more of my favourite shots of Tenby - oh, and one more collage ......

(RGH's photo)

(RBD1's photo)

And finally, Monkee and Muffin in perfect harmony .....

What's that? You don't think Monkees and Muffins can go together in perfect harmony?

How do you explain this then ......

(Please note that this latest Etsy purchase isn't my fault. It's Cheryl's, cos she gave me the link. So there. But really ..... how could I not?)

Who'd thought 007 has a romantic streak? Lol. Those muffin shots had me laugh out loud :D I'd be slightly nervous, too, if I were a muffin in a fishing net... lol.

And monkey muffins... now how fantastic is that??? :D

~x~

the top picture in the Valentine's post - go on admit it. It was you and RGH being all romtic-ified on Tenby beach wasn't it?

You had me for most of the post, I was convinced it was a soppy romantic picture a la Jack Vettriano and then I had a closer look. Am now pretty sure it is a Monkee Household picture with a light dusting of Picasa around the edges.

If all this is true and it was taken by RBD1or2 I suggest they contact art college, agent and greetings cards companies in double quick time. Fabulous work. :-)

That was supposed to be ' romantic-ified' in the previous comment. Please accept apologies for rubbish typing.

Are you trying to ruin everything?? The blummin thing I was waiting for from the US for you turned up at work last week after going to the wrong Manchester, only to be forwarded by the receptionist to my home and has now disappeared. So, I trots off to Etsy and see a monkey muffin bag, though ooh thats perfect and its on its way and youve gone and got one!! Bah. Hopefully when the other thing arrives now in place of the thing that disappeared, you wont have one of those. Or probably want one of those. Sheesh, hard work this surprise parcel lark I can tell yer.

Anyway, smashing photos, why are holiday homes so swish? Dont do it though, dont go home and be inspired to redecorate. I did just that a couple of years ago after staying in a holiday cottage in Amble. Before I'd even unpacked I'd start stripping the bedroom walls in a frantic attempt to recreate the bedroom Id just stayed in. Bedroom stayed half stripped for 2 years. Just dont do it.

Essay much?

:) You have wonderful photos!!! I actually pop in on occasion as we both are fans of Lesley's but since you actually visited me, I thought I'd finally comment on your blog!! You crack me up and I don't know why I never added you to my favorites list, so consider yourself added!! The "cake cannibalism" was so funny!!!

Luvverly photies.

What a great place to stay.

Looks like a great place to go.

(off to add another place to my "list of places I want to go to but probably never will" list.)

Poor 007 being shackled like that. Keeps him in his place though.

007 looks very much at home in that fab holiday home. Never been to Tenby but it looks lovely, love all the photos.

I've been to Tenby....I don't remember it being a romantic haven - just full of Welsh people chatting loudly in the middle of the pavements blocking everywhere...
I would just like to make a comment about your husband....I think he's a good sport, not only to be involved in the raffle avec bongo's (do the drawer or you don't get any dinner - we all heard you Kerry) but he doesn't seem to mind you taking a stuffed monkey everywhere and taking pictures....if you were out and about with mine ( and your welcome anytime;) ) 007 would be slung over the nearest high wall....

Beautiful photos of Tenby. Your photos of 007 and muffins adventures made me laugh, especially cake cannabalism. Lovely monkey muffin bag too. Jane x

Lovely photos as always, MM (and from the whole family, now: you talented bunch!) Also fab monkey muffin items: love the bag especially. Meant to get one myself a while ago but forgot. Which probably only goes to prove that I didn't really need it :o)
VCxx

PS re: your comment on my blog: I'm with you on the marmite issue. That was why getting her some as a gift was such an act of love, I feel :o)

It looks like a lovely spot.
The place you stayed at looks really swisho.

how could you not, indeed?

the muffin pictures made me laugh, how do you make it look like a muffin has emotions??

007 doesn't look to impressed with it all!

Gorgeous photos MM!! Can't say I blame 007 for staying behind and entertaining himself with the sheep though!
Great Monkee/Muffin hybrid - can't think why no-one thought of it sooner :)

OMG! ok, aside from the usual hilarity (here is me...exerting herculean willpower and NOT MAKING the obligatory filthy "007 + shaun" joke...consider it m'little gift to ya!) i don't think i have mentioned in a while what an AMAZING photographer you are!!! SERIOUSLY!!! your choice of subjects, cool angles, crystal clarity, and complete lack of fingers and/or hair in the frame consistently make me embarrassingly green with envy! (not a flattering shade of green, either; we're talkin' puce!)

and clearly the RGH *and* RBD's have all studied at your feet and have begun to turn in their own rather talented photos!

i'd discuss this at even greater length, but some t'internet-shopping addiction-enabling type mentioned a link to a place with stuff that sez "MONKEE MUFFIN" on it, and since i've already used up my herculean willpower for the week, thus i must go there and buy things! :)

A CONFESSION.... I am not a "monkee loving" kinda girl. They actually really freak me out. I would rather go through the reptile house at the zoo than the primate area ! Something about them really gives me the willies ! But, I must admit - 007 is kinda cute. He may be getting me over (at least a wee bit) my phobia over primates !
