How??

How can I eat this ..... ?

It's just too damned cute! Every time I go to smash it over the head with a wooden mallet it keeps fixing it's beady eye on me ......

..... and I just can't do it. So this chocolate bunny lives to see another day. I'm not sure just how many more days it'll see before I crack (it) though .....

As mentioned last time, I need to get back to showing and telling the goodies that our very nice postie keeps delivering to our door.

The day after the monkey sock parcel arrived, I received a little something from Meg's Mum (no blog link I'm afraid, as she doesn't have one) (although she really ought to) (I'm just saying). Well, I say little, as little was what I was expecting, after she'd asked for my address so that Meg could send me a Thank you card.

Meg really didn't need to send me a Thank you card ..... in fact, I should be the one thanking her as she and her Mum have bought two of my monkees.

So I was a little taken aback when this arrived ......

..... not little at all (a Thank you card has been included for scale purposes) .....

Inside was a card and a brilliantly wrapped gift ......

..... and inside that was this gorgeous bag, handcrafted by Meg's Mum, a fabulous cupcake card and a letter from Meg .....

..... which included this groovy alien frog/monkee design .....

..... Meg's partial to frogs, apparently .....

Thank you Meg, and Meg's Mum, for your kindness, I've found just the thing to go in my luxurious bag .....

..... luxurious chocolates (which I have no qualms eating) .....

In monkee pigeon news, Greg's not very happy with me ......

..... something to do with his new badge, apparently ......

..... I can't decide if it's the picture or the pin he objects to most .....

Yep, charlie chicken's still intact, too... I just can't bring myself to eat him... definite design flaw in these cutesy chocolate creatures! Although it's funny that I have such a problem with it, really, as I always used to take great delight in biting the heads off jelly babies... maybe we should both try some of that? Just as training?

PS I have monkey bag envy :o(

Greg is a seriously cute pigeon!

Give the bunny to RGH - I'm sure he will have no qualms about cracking it.

You need to eat it ears first!

That is one heck of a gorgeous thank you present from Meg's mum :)

Not sure I'd be happy with you if you stuck a big pin through my chest either!!

Speaking as one who has just smashed up a chocolate bunny and scoffed it, I have to say it really isn't difficult. If you get upset with it staring you in the eyes, just wrap it up in a tea towel and wack it with a book or rolling pin. Or smash it on the table.

Or drive over it in the car.

Or get Greg to peck at it.

Or I'm sure 007 would help you out with one of RGH's hammers. In fact having seen how he treats the half-pints, he seems quite happy to commit murder (of the chocolatey kind).

Or if all else fails, you have my address and I'll do it for you. See, I'm good like that!

Poor Greg! How would you like to have a dirty great pin stuck thru your chest?

Now about that rabbit, just cover YOUR eyes and give him a whack!

You can tell Greg that I am happy to come and rescue him if he gets any more unscheduled acupunture sessions!

Love your blog. You must check out Yarn Harlot's blog, the latest entry especially. She has a sock monkey hat!!! I read it, and thought of you. You could start a trend on your side of the pond.

I loved your previous travel photos and what a lucky girl you are to get such great presents! I just had to tell you that we watched "Eagle vs. Shark" last night and I didn't realize until just tonight that it's that Flight of the Concords guy... and I thought of you! You are the only other person I know who shares my warped sense of humor about that! Hope your weekend was great... and tell Greg to just appreciate the fact that he's liked so well... pigeons are not usually so cute!

I had three sizes of the bunnies for Easter and can't bring myself to eat any of them. Soon though!!!

smash the bunny - eat the bunny - do it!!!!!

A tip from my smaller daughter - if you bite the head off the bunny first it can't watch you any more ...

YOU are TOO funny!!! I hope you like that movie!! (If you don't, I'll buy it off of you!) I have never even watched the FOTC on HBO, but have seen enough to be thoroughly amused!

I can't believe the bunny abuse comments that you have stirred. There are either some bunny haters out there or they sure love their chocolate! Um, on that note, smash him!

Poor Greg, being poked is real abuse!

those lindt bunny's do look cute, and taste divine, far too good for kids.

eat it, eat it, eat it!

We've still got oodles of Easter chocolate left. In fact only the other day I chucked out a bit of remaining Christmas chocolate :-O

I think Greg's badge is cool - what's he whingeing about?

i feel your pain re the rabbit...i used to eat them and try in vain to save the wrappers but now i just avoid creature shaped easter treats altogether....i have NO such trouble with the egg shaped type though.

I feel your pain! It's so sad when you're left with a little bell on a ribbon as a reminder of the bunny murder you've just committed. If you take the foil off it has no eyes so you might feel less guilty...not that you normally eat them with the foil on. Why not set it free?
Poor Greg doesn't look happy. One moment he's being compared to Johnny Depp and the next he's being peirced by a surprised-looking cat badge.

p.s. sorry- that should have been pierced.
p.p.s. lovely to see monkey and pigeon escapades in Devon and Cornwall. I especially like their boat!

it might be the pin. :)

...OR...it might be that he was hoping for at least an ear off said confectionary rodent...OR...it might be that meg and her mum have not included a charming green pigeon drawing...OR...he *might* not be angry at all, he might just be busy plotting a way to trick you into a pair of techno-trousers so that he can send you via remote-control to steal an enormous diamond from the bristol museum.

nahhhhhhh.

it's probably the pin! :)
