HEY, JOE!

When you get in from school later, have a look in your Mum's bag. There's a little something in there for you .....

I'm not going to tell you what it is, but I'll give you a couple of clues ..... it's made of knit and your Mum has one, your sister has one, your Aunty has one ..... and now you have one.

Can you do me a favour though? Can you tell your Dad that he's not having one. Nuh-uh, no way, nope. Thanks Joe.

In non monkee news, (oops ..... I hope I didn't just give the game away) a little while ago a purchased this gorgeous piece from Melissa's Etsy shop .....

Dragon Heart

Melissa makes beautiful jewellery, and how fortuitous! If you pop over to her blog, she's running a giveaway at the moment, of not one, but two lovely pieces.

Being a monkee made of knit fan, Melissa also made a little extra something for me ..... a teeny tiny 007 pendant ......

So sweet - Thanks, Melissa

Now I can have 007 with me at all times - if I can just get it off him, that is ......

And after seeing a link on someone else's site, I popped over to Picciolo, who makes fabulous purses and wallets and brilliant fabric artwork, and packages them up so prettily .....

..... I fear I may have to go back for more .....

..... I also fear that I may be addicted to Etsy ...... does anyone know if there's an Etsy Anonymous group I can join, for those addicted to handmade goodies?

Not even going to ask what Joe's dad has done to warrant not being allowed a you know what made of knit!
Lovely shopping MM. I'm sure it's not an addiction. In fact I admire your moral stance - supporting independent craftspeople and making a stand against mass production. At least that's what I tell Moogsdad when caught on etsy :)

Dragon Heart is fab!!!

007 jewelry is pretty darn cute also. Maybe he needs his own necklace.

Gosh, what beautiful 'things'. I'm new to Etsy, but it sure is addictive. Thanks for the links to other blogs too - it's always a pleasure to find interesting, funny, talented, clever new people to read. x

PS Word verification = rcaxedel - sounds like a drug to me :-O

No! - you must buy the handmade goods, its far better then putting money in those crooks that run the hight streets pockets. Feel smug and warm inside knowing you're keeping 'cottage industry' alive. Buy Buy Buy there is no guilt!!! Sam x

Etsy shopping is great but definitely another form of addiction. But the first step to recovery is recognition of your problem..........!

Thanks so much for the blog love, MM. I'm glad you're enjoying the pendant (and you're the only one who will have the large sized one, since I broke the stamp I carved for it shortly thereafter, sigh). I think 007 looks quite fetching. Picciolo's wallet is quite brilliant - love the colors. Great. Just what I need - another excuse to go trolling for fab stuff on Etsy...

yep, that Etsy certainly plays havoc with your credit card! Looks like you've got a discerning eye though as you've certainly bagged some fab things!

Hmmm I think the medallion man thing is a great new look for 007. Next thing he'll be growing a chest wig and saying 'hello laydeeeees' all over the place x

There are such lovely things all over Etsy... I've resisted signing up so far, 'cos I know that once I do, I'll spend far too much money on pretty things! I don't think my willpower will hold out for much longer, though: I'm bound to give in soon.

...and then I'll be badgering you to pass on details of where the Bristol EA branch holds its meetings, so I can join too!

OOoooo lovely goodies you've got there. I've been looking but not buying from Etsy, and even thinking of getting a shop. I think more research is needed!!

can't wait to see what the new monkee looks like! I can spend hours drifting round etsy. Happily, I've never really understood how to use paypal (or so I tell myself, and it is working so far...)

even if there *is* an "etsy anonymous" group...you would have to WANT to change!!! :)

(ps: i think you might have to allow 007 to keep the 007 pendant. let's face it: there's not a human being living or dead who will look cutter wearing that than he does!!!)

(pss: i think joe's prezzie is probably a toaster. am i right? am i right??!)

I'm another one that was in the Crafty Threads and Yarners Monkey Knitalong and "Chimp" would love you to see his picture, but I can't find a contact email. Could you let me know it?
Wish "Chimp " looked as good as your monkeys.
