Random Monkey Shot # 20

In a change from the post I was planning, I give you a picture of some monkeys that I didn't knit. I saw this photo of Japanese Macaques in a hot spring at the Joshinetsu Kogen national park, in the Times last week and I liked it. I liked it a lot.

Do those monkeys know how to live or what?

My monkees are very jealous, obviously, as they too would love to lounge around in a hot spring (who wouldn't?). But you know what happens to knit when it gets wet. And it's not pleasant.

I have to leave the house early this morning to go on a training course, so tune in next time to find out what happened when Rosy and Martin Lafelt came to live amongst the inmates primates here at Monkee Towers. (Make sure you bring refreshments ..... it's quite a saga ....)

Your monkees are jealous? But they're sooooooooo much cuter than the unknitted monkeys! :)

Evolution? So why did we evolve out of soaking ourselves in hot springs? Seems like a much better life if you ask me.

Can I elect to go back?

Oooh the contentment on that monkey's face. I'm wondering what was going on under the water line, but there you are, that's me and my mucky mind for you ;-)

Good luck on your training course - what are you being trained to do? x

As I have form I'll bring the R&WC muffins. Who will put their hands up for the hot chocolate?

Just tried to e-mail you but it failed miserably!

Thanks so much for visiting The Pigeon Loft. Can´t believe I´ve only just found your blog, it´s FAB and I absolutely love your monkeys. There is something special about 007s isn´t there?
There should be more pigeons and hens in the shop in early feb when I get back to the UK so I´ll definitely keep one for you if you´re still interested.
Keep monkeying!

p.s. the photos of 007 had me giggling away to myself...which is NOT good as I´m in a sticky internet cafe surrounded by Spaniards!

Those Japanese primates look happy. Very content.

Looking forward to the saga of Martin and Rosy.

i'm with patti...bring on the ~DEVOLUTION~...and save me a spot at the spring!!! :)

hope the training went well! ideally, they are training you to do something *fun*...or maybe the government of bristol has decided to get out in front of the "knitted monkee world domination curve" and YOU are training the city council in the fine art of primate purling??! (if so, i am moving to bristol immediately & will presume upon our acquaintance in hopes of being appointed your executive assistant and chief muffin wrangler!) :)

Saga? I'm up for that. Will it be as thrilling as Noggin the Nog? Do I need to brush up my Norse? Shall I bring chocolate fudge, or would a firkin of mead be more appropriate?

Did you watch Planet of the Apes the other night.....I couldn't watch it without thinking a knitted monkee would pop up somewhere....
