Pigeon, I hereby dub thee .....

Many thanks to everyone who took part in the naming of Mr P 019. So many entries! So many excellent names!

Some of the runners up : Squadron Leader P. John Smythe, Pingoe (which reminded me of Pingu - a favourite of mine the kid's, a few years ago), Percy/Percival - a popular contender, as was Walter, Woodie/Woody and Py/Pie. Captain Hook, Feathers and Biggles, all excellent names, as was Isambard Pigeon Brunel, but sadly I had to discount Charlie, as the creator of Mr P. (Sorry Charlie, but I didn't want it to look rigged or anything, now did I?)

But there can only be one two three four winners .... after all, everyone needs an extra name or two. Plus a nom de plume .....

So from here on, Mr Pigeon 019 will be known as .....

..... and just in case you can't see that ......

...... or Greg, for short ......

Thanks Working Mom Knits, Muddling Through, Rosie and Merry Mog for the brilliant names, if you could mail me at monkeemaker@yahoo.co.uk with forwarding addresses, I'll send you some goodies this week.

..... and if anyone is wondering how I managed to fit all those names on that tiny tag .....

..... I didn't .....

Talking of Merry Mog, recently she sent me a link to this recipe for some delicious looking Raspberry and White Choc Chip muffins. Thanks, Merry Mog. I think. Maybe you weren't reading my blog when I posted this entry. Or maybe you're just trying to rub in the fact that I can't bake. Whichever the case may be, I'm not going to hold it against you.

Oh no.

Because I've put all that bad baking behind me.

Why, just look at this batch of cupcakes I whipped up the other day .....

Mmmmm, don't they look good?

..... and I even sealed them in cellophane to keep them fresh. No, really, I did.

Sadly they'd all gone by yesterday, when the lovely and not at all Vicious Chicken came round to visit, but luckily she brought some delicious Blondies with her (thanks, VC!), and I had a great time knitting and chatting with a fellow monkey-loving blogger. Unfortunately she didn't wear her fabulous new slippers, but maybe she thought that risk was too great ..... given a certain someone's attraction to novelty footwear .....

Homer the Pigeon has a/some splendid name(s) - I'm sure he will live up to each and every one of them.

How lovely that you got to spend time with VC. Did she wear her beard? I'm rather jealous of all these bloggy get-togethers but it's good to know all you real imaginary people are as lovely as you seem on your blogs.

I loved the "Gregory Peck" part of his name.
007 looks rather gorgeous in the pink slippers!

Gregory Peck was always better looking than Walter Pigeon anyway.

You go Greg!!

Homer/Gregory really suits him! Good choice(s) MM.

D'yer know I baked some cupcakes that looked exactly like that just last week - only I also wrapped mine in a special cardboard box ;)

Tea and cakes with you and VC plus knitting and monkees just sounds like far too much fun!

xx

Great pigeon names, MM! Good luck with fitting all four of them onto the teeny tiny pigeon passport, though ;o)

Thanks again for your hospitality yesterday - I really enjoyed it too, despite the fact that the NBM has since been teasing me slightly about going to a 'knitting party' (she's such an unbeliever when it comes to the way of the wool). But no, I had a lovely time... and both you and RGH make a smashing cuppa :o)
VCxx

PS. A monkey wearing monkey slippers might be a bit dangerous - it could create an inescapable vicious circle of monkeyage - a bit like how you must NEVER type 'google' into google because it would make the Internet explode.

PPS. Or maybe not ;o)

Oh maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

You

and VC

together in the same room?

And we didn't get to come too?!!!!

How I would have loved to have been there with you both! I bet the walls were shaking with laughter - did 007 go into hiding?

Dear Homer McPigeonwiththeverylongname-Smythe, also known as Greg,

Flee now before she figures out how to stuff your as yet undeformed feet into any variety of footwear! Have you seen the pictures?!?

Flee to definite safety (which is about 68 miles S.E. of your house and slightly vertical where I shall be waiting with open arms and lots of wooly bird seed).

A fine name for such a distinguished pigeon! I like Cuthbert quite a bit - I used to have a dragon named Cuthbert... Clearly 007's boots were made for walking.

Nice to see the pigeon has got a name but what are you doing to 007- pink fluffy slippers, that is so not cool[as my 19yr old son would say].
If 007 ever feels that he needs to consider relocation he is always welcome.

that big tag was truly cunning. Is 007 going to do a foot fetishists calendar for 2009?
