Not remotely interested

Do you have too many remotes in your life?

Do you keep losing them down the back of the sofa?

Or are you someone who, despite being well into your 40th year, refuses to accept that you may need glasses?

Or if you're a knitted primate, with no fingers or opposable thumbs ......

...... do you find these pesky fiddly remotes tricky to operate?

If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, then you may need one of these ......

..... (no, the one on the left) Possibly the biggest remote IN THE WORLD .....

It replaces all those other tiny remotes* and is perfect for those pudgy knitted limbs .......

And the best feature of Possibly the biggest remote IN THE WORLD is this ..... if you get bored watching TV and fancy something different, simply press this button ......

...... and 10 minutes later ..... ok, make that 25 ..... a taxi will turn up at your door to whisk you out for the evening - now that's some remote!

* before you rush out to purchase one of these magnificent Possibly the biggest remote IN THE WORLD's, please note that it doesn't seem to work with a Virgin cable box. *Sigh*

Over on the stunt monkee news desk, it's been announced that three (possibly four) new monkees made of knit will be let loose in the Monkees 4 u shop bright and early* on Sunday morning. Local reports say that these reprobates will definitely be there ......

(two hairy chimps and a camo-monkee)

...... possibly being joined by a fourth, reported to be a Half-Pint 007 wannabe.

Our sources have warned that bagsy-ing these monkees will not be possible and they urge monkee lovers everywhere to limber up their commenting fingers in preparation for Sunday.

* as early as I can get up ..... let's say 6 am UK time .... or possibly five past .....

I felt sure you were going to launch into a 'monkee remote control holder' speech for a moment there and got all giddy.

Im still holding out for monkee socks....

Love the camo-monkee. Alas, the monkee spots in our house are already spoken for. In fact, they often speak quite loudly (but politely) that they would like to get out of the closet now, please. A closet of monkees may not be as fun as a barrel full, but they certainly are rambunctious. I have a feeling they may need to come out over Thanksgiving...

Only too well do I know the story of the remotes. We did get an uber snazzy thing (at a bargain price according to husband, but don't mention it unless you have at least half an hour to listen to all the wonders it can do) but then I dropped it in my wine. It still does quite a lot - just some of the buttons are a bit hungover.

Lovin the monkee gang.

LOL at suzyb ... I thought it would be a knitted remote control holder too.

Been reading your blog for a while, but tempted out of the comment closet to say those fluffy monkeys are brilliant!

I think it wouldn't be safe to have such a huuuuge remote in my house... I'd feel too tempted to use it as a weapon to gain control over the choice of channel on the telly... lol.
I do like the idea of a knitted remote control holder... how I'd get close enough to put it on said remote I do not know but I like the idea... :D

Although I really really love that camo-monkee, I WILL NOT (!!!!!) get p at 6AM on a SUNDAY morning (that's like swearing, that is!!! Are you feeling ok???? Lol)to fight for it. I shall leave the fun to those of you who enjoy mornings - I don't. At all. Ever. (Maybe you could just tell me which yarn you used and I can plan ahead for munkee #...ummm... 6 I think - #4 is going to be black and grey, #5 needs to be orange cos Little Thing wants an orange munkee for his bday)...

So... good luck everybody... Sunday morning... you have fun :D

comment........comment.........comment......... does that count as 3 entries?!!

I soo wanna hairy one!! Monkee I mean! Due to my various mistakes I don't think I'd ever be able to knit in hairy wool!
I've not let Wonkey see the 007 pics in case he gets ideas about hogging the remote. It's mine!

I know I'll miss out by sleeping in, and now I'm going to weep very loudly and pathetically and drown my sorrows with the box of orange matchmakers I bought for such emergency situations.
Oh, camo monkey, how I yearn for thee................

Cripes - that is indeedy one mega-giant remote control.

And cripes again - look at you re-stocking monkees4u already! Loving the news HPs, especially the brown fuzzball. I hope they all go to good monkee-loving homes :o)
VCx

PS To those commenters who mentioned a knitted remote-holder: I've always found that the large size of the PGTips/Digital monkey is very good at holding a remote in his mouth... although I think he might struggle with that super-massize one!

6am Sunday morning! Do you really have to? Are you sure you wouldn't prefer 9am Monday? LOL

Oh my word fluffymonkeetastic!!! I thought there were only two until I realised there was a cunningly camouflaged one in the middle :o)
I was actually holding my breath for a monkee remote control holder too. Looks like a business opportunity!

p.s. 6am on Sunday - are you quite mad?
don't answer that ;)

How about monkee bags? :D Will there be a green monkee bag? I'm watching your shop..!

Uhm.. and yes, it's all about green!

Oh, and I "borrowed" your monkee face for one of my hats.. hope you don't mind!

Have a nice weekend!!

Dude - can we talk about this time issue for a moment?

We in the WMK household want desperately to adopt one of your adorable Monkees Made of Knit*. However, we're at a distinct disadvantage due to the proposed 6am (UK time) store opening. I beg of you. Take pitty on me, your humble devotee. I have a 2 1/2 year old. Staying up past midnight is simply not possible.

Thank you for your consideration.

*TBG has put inplace a rule that forbids TLG wearing anything that remotely resembles camo. This being the case, we'd be bidding on the camo monkee of course! (Never has TBG said that this "rule" applies to knitted pets!)

Hehehe, i to thought you were doing a promo for a monkee remote control holder too! love the monkees but 6am on a sunday :-O too early for me, i have to get up at that time during the week!

Munkeh said...

Oh my! (swoon) the camo monkey is just toooo cute and really needs to live at my house in Oregon. What is the time difference between Oregon and England? Is it 8 hours or more?

He really would fit in well with my quickly growing herd of munkeh! Bucket and Perry are into the "green" theme (as is their mom).

Here's hoping.

OMG I love the furry one - but 6am........better set the alarm!

tee hee!

I am always telling my family (er that would be Number Guy) not to leave remotes on the couch.

Ooh there you go, an untapped market!

And yes, I was (shusssh) blogging at work, the big cheeses deserted me, whats a girl to do in the office with nothing to do? Apart from watch Bionic Woman on the laptop and eat the buffet that should have been cancelled I mean.

The mantlepiece photos were cleverly taken prior to going to work, as were the cherubs and the ha'penny birdie lives in my jewellery box and came into work with me today.

Actually I should have just said 'Its all done with mirrors' and left all the mystery in it, dammit.

Yeah! We'll be sitting at the keyboard patiently waiting. I hope we can get the 007 wannabe for Rylie. Her 9th birthday is 3 days after Christmas, which is always a bad time to have a birthday. It would make her day to get a 007 look-a-like.

Off to set a countdown timer... :o)

Hey, can you all see a sad-eyed blond little girl pleading?? LOL! I'm trying to shamelessly improve our chances.

I just love your stories with pictures and everything!!! Why don't you write a book for children (and grown ups like me) with theese beautyful figurs??? I'll buy one!!!

lauren bergold said...

wahey--you mean all i have to do is stay up until midnight and HP007.5 is mine?!

BWAHAHAHHAHHHWAHHAHAHA! (that's some typed evil laughter there.) (good, isn't it?!) (you should use a james-earl-jones-ish voice for that, btw.) (not that mr. jones is evil, of course. au contraire. just a very very good actor, with a deep and impressive vocal quality which lends itself particularly well to evil laughter.) (you're pressing the "CAB" button aren't you? ...and it's for me...) (i'll get m'coat!)

Off to go cough in a corner now...
