Party like it's 1999

Well, here's one last monkees-in-a-basket shot featuring the monkees partying hard .... or possibly playing Sardines, before being sent off to their new homes. I think the pink ones wanted to start off a rousing chorus of Auld Lang Syne, but the others didn't know the words.

Anyway, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who visited my shop yesterday and swept the contents from the shelves, what a stressful fun time that was ..... once the Immodium had kicked in. Thanks for all the lovely comments regarding my new venture as well.

I have a strong desire to shout "I LOVE YOU ALL!" in the style of the lady from a 70's TV show ..... I was sure that was Diana Dors's catchphrase (the UK's equivalent to Marilyn Monroe), but having just googled it, turns out it was "a fat lady" (charming!) at the end of the Morcambe and Wise show. Anyhoo ..... I LOVE YOU ALL!!! (but not in a physical way, obviously)

So, it seems I need to get those pesky thin needles and yarns out again and get cracking on some teeny tiny monkees, as HP6 was very popular. Oh joy!!

I think I mailed everyone who reserved something, apart from Meg's Mum, so if you're reading this, (or if I missed anyone) could you mail me at monkeemaker@yahoo.co.uk so that I can give you more details? And I shall look into the Haloscan gizmo that Chrispy mentioned, in order that I can reply to comments.

Incidentally, HP14 tried to join the party but apparently he was too big ......

Nevermind HP14, hopefully you'll soon be partying with a whole new family!

Just before I go to get out my sticks again ..... that "hovering" pumpkin in yesterday's post? It was all done with mirrors. (Actually, it was all done with RGH lying under the table with a big skewer but that doesn't sound nearly as clever)

Must have been one huge skewer to hold a pumpkin! Congratulations on your first days trading.

As the soon-to-be proud new owner of one of your monkees I'm just de-lurking long enough to say hi! 9 year old son is already plotting a monkee kidnap attempt, so I am preparing to fend off ransom demands. (Guess I'd better stock up on bananas.... and sweets!)I thought the shop looked fantastic; so pleased it went well for you and all the monkees have new homes! :o)

Gotta be a record sell out time :D Your plan of Knitted Monkee World Domination is shaping up nicely, innit? :D

HP 14 is one BIG monkey

I fished out my "8 ply bag" (of wool) and found a little more of my monkee yarn.

I now have one back, one front, (almost) twoarms and two feet, waiting for legs.

...am tempted to start ANOTHER one.......just to fill in time, you understand.......until I can get more 8 ply to finish the first monkee..........ohhh....I feel faint.......

I was so depressed to miss out on HP6. I ate way too much chocolate last night to try to make myself feel better. Sniff... :(

Congrats on the shop success (not that I had any doubts, mind you!) :)

Can't wait to get my-mucky-mitts-on- my-marvellously-mad-monkee! Let me know how to pay you!

P.S. I know I said HP4 was for Dot's Christmas present but really it's just a good excuse to have a mad-monkee in the house!

HP6, just suck in your tummy and try to be small when you go to the Post Office to be weighed, okay? The Short One who lives here would very much like to have a big monkee to drag around by the foot.

I was wondering why I was getting so much traffic from the UK today. Thanks for the mention!

The monkees look so cute in the basket together.

The monkees look so mishievous, huddled together in that basket :o)

I hope they didn't party into the small hours and keep you awake, though - I've no doubt that monkee parties are riotous occasions. But hey, maybe you just joined in :o)

Oh dear, I meant HP 14. How embarrassing. Don't hold it against me 14, okay? I'm going to go hide, now.

Oh NOOOOOOOO, I missed the shop! I'm so upset. Any chance I can go on the waiting list?? I've been so busy I didn't get a chance to look. I'm so desperate for a monkey. (that sounds perverted)

Can I claim to be Meg's Mum so I can sneak one of your goodies to my house ? ;)

Well done you! See what you've started?
Minx has asked who is going to have the new pink Monkee (oh HP5 I love you already!) and I said 'ME'. Should have seen her little face. I then explained that HP5 will go to bed with me at night and then come downstairs to have adventures during the day just as her favourite teddy does. That has helped for now but I do anticipate having to fight her off MY monkee when she gets here ;o)
Mine... all mine...mwah ha ha ha ha
BTW if you fancy some bursting eyeballs you are very welcome to come to tea next Hallowe'en!!!!
RGH is my hero - how did you get him to agree to holding a pumpkin on a skewer?

If any more monkeys jump in that basket, they'll be stuck in there for sure(hope I'm not giving anyone ideas).

Wow! Sold out in record time. Have now downloaded the pattern myself in desperation as the kids keep giving me that look. Feeling inspiration for a stripy half pint if I can work out the pattern.

Dear Monkee Maker, my mother says your monkees should have just a line of wool where their mouths are. Do you think she is trying ti stop their plans for world domination?

please pause to imagine the herculean effort i am making NOT to pursue the rich (& completely filthy)comedic potential inherent in the line,

"RGH lying under the table with a big skewer"

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you may, if you like, consider that your "shoppe-warming" present! :)
