Have I mentioned I'm quite very nosey?

Last year, Crazy Aunt Purl asked her readers to email her pictures of their favourite knitting spot. I didn't do it as I was a confirmed lurker back then but I was intrigued to see where people indulged in their passion ..... for knitting, obviously, I'm not that nosey ....... hmm, on the other hand ......

On an unrelated note, if anyone should happen to try and peek at my blog at my place of work (heaven forbid), they wouldn't be able to as it's been banned under the Geneva Convention. Actually, it's deemed to be a Social Networking site which is a no-no.

So. Bringing the two topics together, and bearing in mind just how nosey I am, I thought I may try and conduct my own social networking experiment. Who's with me?? (Don't all rush at once now)

Below I have posted photos of the places where I sit and knit, and it would be smashing if anyone who stumbles across my blog and is up for showing off a corner of their home, or garden, or favourite place to chill with their sticks and some yarn, could do the same on their blog sometime (but heavens to mergatroid don't mail me any pictures ...... C.A.P. must have been working on it for weeks!)

Here we go then ......

Shortly after I drag myself out of bed in the morning I make a coffee , shout upstairs to wake the RBD's (three or four times ..... they take a lot of waking up), then I retreat to the corner where I sit and knit until about ...... ooh, ten minutes before I have to leave for work ......

(apart from when I sit at my pc and blog, like now ..... all bed hair, gorilla breath, and Mrs Blobby dressing gown. Nice)

In the evenings, RGH and I retire to the lounge, where once again I like to pick up my sticks and ensconce myself at one end of the sofa. Before I started manic monkey making we used to snuggle up together on the sofa. Not any more. Oh no.

(I've included my knitting bag in each shot as a visual prop)

While knitting I like to watch TV. I always watch educational, intelligent and thought provoking programmes .......

....... no really, you can learn a lot from Wallace and Gromit.

I also like to knit in the car on long trips .......

And so there you have it. My favourite knitting spots. If anyone on my link list joins in with this social networking experiment then I'll check out your favourite spot when I'm blog-stalking, and if you're not on my link list but are happy for me to have a snoop around your place, then please leave me a comment with a link.

If nobody does it then it'll take me right back to primary school when I played that game of "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" with Zebedee Mulranahoneyhoo (name changed to protect the innocent). Oh no, wait ..... back then it was me that ran off screaming without fulfilling my part of the deal.

And don't feel you have to hoover. I didn't.

So am I - where's your knitting bag from?

I am just teaching myself to knit, so don't have a "spot" as yet.

I reckon you're only doing this to show off that you've learnt how to draw arrows and leave witty messages on your photos! It's nothing to do with knitting really.

So how do you do it then? I want to be clever like you! Anyway, missy, why have you been elitist and excluded your sewing friends? Can't we play anymore?

Well, Denise, I'm glad you asked. I love bags and I especially love cheap bags. And this cheap bag is no exception. I got it from a shop called Sports and Soccer, a discount sports shop, for the princely sum of £4.99. Bargain! (and what are you knitting? ..... ever thought of doing a .... oh I don't know ..... monkey??)

And Lucy, me show-off? As if! I just happen to know a less technically challenged than me teenager (or two) who showed me how to open paint in my photo gallery. Cool.

And please do play! I'd love to have a snoop around your place - all those fab crafts to admire! I didn't mean to discriminate, sorry!

I don't have a blog so can't show, but I can tell. At His house I have taken over the corner of the sofa most covered in cat hair (they love me) and the nearby table is a mound of projects. So long as I don't take over the tv remote, he doesn't care. At MY house -- well I knit anywhere I want because it's mine. The whole house is my knitting nest.

Your house is so tidy!

Ummmm. Thanks Martha. I may not have hoovered but I DID move piles of junk out of picture shot! (Forgot about the washing though)

And sheesh, men and their remotes! Worse than a knittist and her/his stash!

Drat! You would have to pick the ONE DAY I didn't ride the train! (I'm totally in to this social experiment; will post my pics on Monday. Unless I can get to the train station, jump on the train, snap a pic, jump off of the train and dash to my parking space before the time runs out on the parking meter...)

I took my knitting to the hairdressers today and it was great just to sit and do something other than flick through Hello and Vogue.
I'm currently using very short needles that slip in to my handbag perfectly.

I'll keep an eye out for that shop and that bag.

Isn't monkey making advanced? I'm only a beginner, with ideas way above my abilities :)

I shall post my knitting spots, however I'm quite boring as it's either on my sofa (I'm only allowed to sit on the brown leather one as the cream fabric one shows up red wine drips and chocolate spillage!) Or Borders at knitting group so stand by until I've been to knitting group again! I like your notes on your pics - very fancy! I did knit on a train recently but I'm not on them very often!

I would love to post a picture of the brown couch (we have three - brown, yellow & inferior)facing away from the telly just as soon as I figure out why my brand new blog will only let me post headlines and not text/photos! Any pointers?!?! I fear Sobakowa's influence spreads!

I mostly knit in the same places: the couch and the car. Sometimes in bed at night while boyfriend reads to me.

I'm trying to develop a way to knit in the car better. I'm considering attaching a clipboard to the dashboard of the passenger seat so I can read patterns without having them slide off my lap.

I just realized I'm on your list! Wow.. that's always kind of shocking.. but in a nice way, though. :)
I will post a photo of my favorite places to knit, but right now I'm taking some days of(or it might be weeks, don't know yet) at my fathers place.. I guess the photos have to wait.. ;D

I love Wallace and Gromit! I had a moment of vertigo when looking at your car photos, though - even though I am mentally aware that the driver sits to the right in England, I had a panicky feeling you were telling us that you knit while driving and never knit in the passenger seat. That's what an American gets, I suppose... Off to snap a shot of my knitting corner...

I just discovered you today (the 18th) and I think this is a nifty idea.

Even if mine is excruciatingly embarrassingly messy, I'll post it up within a few days.

I wondered where the monkey on my back went, now I know! Some blogger has been attracting and hoarding monkeys. Hee hee!
