Something strange happened in the garden ....

But before I tell you about that, I must quickly thank you for all your thoughts on photo editing on my last post. I've studied them intently, and I think the overall message is .... I'm right. Hurrah!

Anyway, on with the story .....

It was such a lovely day on Wednesday and 007 was feeling a bit grumpy, what with his latest bessie mate having been eaten (by me), that I decided to throw him a bit of a party in the garden.

There were party hats ....

.... and homemade cupcakes ....

.... and even a lovely heart-shaped balloon (kindly provided by Alice when I bought this gorgeous bag) ....

(oh yeah .... I've really over-edited this picture .... where are my shades?)

007 was one happy monkee ....

.... but that's when the something strange happened ....

.... what the ....??? 007 looked around for the scoundrel who had sabotaged his garden party but could see no one.

.... and then he spotted the blue party hat ....

.... and looked underneath it. And who did he find there?

Greg.

(Note to Dotty Cookie if she's looking .... told you my two neglected pots aren't as pretty as yours!)

.... Greg, looking like butter wouldn't melt in his little crocheted mouth .....

.... Greg, who insisted he had nothing to do with it ....

.... I had nothing to do with it ....

.... I didn't do it!.....

.... No, really .... it wasn't me!! ....

.... mmfffppfffffhh! ....

So Greg protested his innocence until the bitter end. And really, he was under the hat the whole time, so how could he have done it?

It's a mystery .....

The power of the mind. Greg the pigeon has telekennisis or however those more knowledgable than myself would spell it.

Or perhaps its a poltergiest manifestation from the depths of 007's mind.

Or perhaps its a Kerry with a catapult...

It was the pigeon in the hat with a pea-shooter. Or....
It was a well-aimed shot of guano (forgive me for lowering the tone) from a passing squadron of fighter pigeons. Or....
It was a stunt-monkee practising a new action sequence. Or....
It was a member of the New Monkee Army attempting an assassination(sp?)but not allowing for the wind when calculating the shot. Or....

.... actually I am a bit worn out after that last one, these flights of fancy can sure take it out of a girl! Do you work out MM?

I'm beginning to think there's a possibility that 007 has some serious pigeon issues. Was he wronged by a pigeon in a former life do you think?

Mmmmmm cupcakes. Now I want some.

Thank you for making my day:I'm sitting here with tears of laughter streaming down my cheeks! That animation almost (almost) makes up for the fact that my broadband connection decided to go on the blink on tuesday, so I SAW the monkeys, but when I tried to reserve one the wretched 'puter stalled. Grr.

I thought this was a G-rated blog.
I dunno, all the violent monkee tendencies here... ;o)

Hmmm, Leon had a guilty face when I asked him if he knew anything about this...;0)))
I hope there will be a part2.

OOF! greg harvey oswald*! did 007 check the grassy knoll*??!

(*these are two semi-obscure "JFK assassination/conspiracy theory" jokes that will not make sense to anyone non-american or under 40...so really...i should erase them and write something more sensible...but that sort of flies in the face of my whole philosophy of life...so i will leave them, apologize, and slink off now, ok?!)

(ps: could i still get one of those cupcakes, though?!)

(pss: HOW do you do the struck out text?? why doesn't MY version of blogger have that??!)

(psss: you might like to offer your film to oliver stone for inclusion in the "JFK" director's cut dvd extras!)

I can testify that Greg didn't move from under the hat during the whole attack, yer honour.

Conspicuous in his absence, is the former Peashooting Champion of the World and one time Slingshot Light Welterweight Champion of Southern England, Mr Martin LaFelt Monkee....now, no doubt, hiding up in his villain's lair with Rosita (alias Rosie Doll) his glamorous ladyfriend.....

Do I really have nothing better to do?

Well, yes I do actually.

I'd just rather be here, doing this :)

Fab monkee-rich post today MM!!

Poor Greg. You sit under a hat all innocent and you don't even get offered a cupcake, you just get blamed for things you didn't do!
The injustice of it all! It's like Deidre Rashid all over again. :/

Poor 007, he's so misunderstood! I totally agree with him- pigeons are EVIL!!!

Stuff who did it, I'm more concerned about how you are going to trick 007 back into the washing machine. I don't think the beer will fool him this time.

Good luck.

Great post though!!

Hmmm. That is strange. Very strange indeed - who could have been responsible? And more importantly - why the heck was the heart-shaped balloon filled with flour?? I'm so confused...
VCxx

PS to lauren - I understood both your jokes despite being under 40 and a Brit. Do I get a prize??

PPS to MM again - your word verifications seem to be appearing at *very* strange angles today... or then again, maybe the NBM just slipped a tot of something into my last cuppa... *hic*

I reckon it was Martin La Felt on the roof with an air rifle. The motive? Jealous of pigeon-primate relations he was trying to frame Greg.

In answer to your question...well not in answer as it's further speculation...maybe it could be "a pie of pigeons" ?

I think it's the new characters from Cluedo.... Martin LaFelt in the next doors garden with a pea shooter.

Poor 007.

That Greg, I wonder who he hired to do the dirty deed? RGH or a RBD??

On a different note, my Munkea seems to have been tortured rather a lot lately; if you wanna know more, read my blog :o)

What can I say that hasn't already been said - another laugh out loud installment of 007 and Greg (I don't think he's guilty)

I've scrutinised that bit of footage so many times and I'm still none the wiser!

I am not sure who the true culprit is but, if I were you and I really liked that bird, I would keep an eye on him. I have a feeling 007 is about to bring out some gadgets and take care of him! I just loved his party though, too cool!

I love all of your photos in the last post, so I am sitting on the fence!

This is too funny!!!! I was just wondering if those cupcakes were still edible afterwards...they looked delicious. Can't wait to hear how the mystery is solved!!!

dottycookie said...

I think your pots look OK! The plants might be a bit manky but the pots are OK ;-)

I don't know what you've done to Greg to make him annoy 007 so much. My pigeon is the model of good behaviour - but then he's more usually with his friend SuperMushroom as psychedelic monkee is busy in the girls' room with Barbie ... Hmmmm.
