Super-monkey

Remember the day of the flying monkey? I've got a confession to make. That's not flying .....

..... that's falling with style

(and just how many film references can I cram into this blog?)

(Love Buzz Lightyear. LOVE HIM!)

See, we love Buzz too (regularly referencing that exact quote). Sadly the Buzz at our house quite often gets pulled from the toybox as a quadruple amputee, or sometimes partial. Occasionally we get a single limb attached but it has been years since all four have been in the same place at the same time. Poor Buzz -'I come in pieces'.

Ha ha .... oops, I mean - poor Buzz! That reminds me of my own sad tale.

Some years ago I was in a charity shop and they had a full size Buzz and Woody. Being the Buzz fan that I am I bought Buzz (for £2.50!! The old dear behind the till obviously didn't realise the cost of Disney toys .... and I didn't enlighten her. Oops) but left Woody for someone else - oh how I kicked myself after.

Anyway, Buzz lived happily with me at work until one day when a family of 7 came in to my office. The kids played happily with my toys (including Buzz) and when I counted the five children out of the door, I retrieved the toys they had with them.

Shame I didn't frisk the Dad aswell. HE'D ONLY WALKED OUT WITH BUZZ UNDER HIS COAT. MY BUZZ!!! I was devastated. Devastated I tell you! But I'm such a wuss I didn't feel able to write to him to accuse him of stealing my buddy. :-( And what a truly great example to his kids that man was.

Sorry. It still hurts.

Perhaps you should have set your laser from stun to kill then you could have blinked him to death.

Oops - thanks Totty! My sister is usually my proof reader and she's fallen down on the job today. I shall have to have words!

Hee hee - sorry to hear your tale of woe about losing your Buzz (does that sound weird?), but it was quite amusing: it's the way you tell 'em. Also, is this the first time you have written more in your comments than on the original post...? :o)

If one more person waves a skein of yarn in my face and says, "Do you have six more in this color?" I'm going to have a mental collapse.

I'm sorry, where I am?
