What's this?

It's not what I think that you think it is. And it's definitely not what I think I know what my sister thinks it is. Unless you all think it's a knitted monkey leg, in which case you'd be right and I'd be unfit to have a blog which is meant to appeal to adults and children alike.

Ahem. In less disturbing news, the Red Arrows flew over our place a couple of times yesterday. It was very cool. I once had a school friend who told me her Dad was the lead pilot in the Red Arrows. I believed her. (He wasn't, he worked for the water board, but hey, it was an easy mistake to make. Red Arrows pilot / water board employee? Almost interchangeable)

Anyway, I wasn't quick enough with my camera to get a shot of them but I did catch these fine feathered friends watching the show ......

After today I've decided not to blog every day*. I fear that my blog may be becoming a tad boring. I may be a one trick pony monkey. I feel that I'm flogging a dead horse monkey. You see? I can't even use metaphors without making them monkey related. And as a wise woman once said, "why blog when you've got nothing to blog about?" (I'm paraphrasing slightly there but it was along those lines)

But before I push off for a few days to get cracking with that bag of stunt monkees, I feel it my blogging duty to pass on the Nice Matters award I received from Rubyred recently (thanks Rubyred!) .......

This should apparently be "awarded to those who are just nice people, good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration! Those that care about others, that are there to lend support or those that are just a positive influence in our blogging world" so I feel a bit of a fake in getting one, but I'm passing on the mantle to the following people, who may or may not wish to pass it on (and sorry if you already have it) :-

(Also, I didn't really want to nominate VC at the vicious chicken for a Nice Matters award, but as I'd already handed out Rockin' Girl Blogger prizes, she'll have to settle with this one! And Michaela ..... please don't take this as bribery. Unless you really want to and it's going to have the desired effect!)

* this decision has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that it's now dark when I get up to blog and I want an extra hour in bed. Absolutely nothing.

Ooooh, thank you! This is my very first award, so I'm chuffed! Hmm, now I must start working on my own list (I suppose it's against the rules to give you back another one?).

I do enjoy your monkey-logues so keep up the amusing work!

Of course I'm up for a spot of bribery. Send the sack of stunt monkees to my home address and I'll consider it a done deal. Many thanks for the award - hey, I'm nice everybody! I don't know how to put the badge thingy onto my blog though (I'm thick) had the same trouble with a Rocking Blogger award a while back. (She says, casually name-dropping - I'm nice AND I rock!) Couldn't work it out then either. My brain has turned to wool I'm sure!

I don't care that you want/need extra sleep! I want/need my early morning laugh each day so don't you dare reduce your blogging or I will be forced to complain to the management (once I've worked out who they are). Lucy

Erm... thanks MM... I think... I mean, obviously it's tops to get an award... but do you need to sound so begrudging in declaring me nice? sheesh.

ok, I admit - I'm really excited anyway!! Woo-Hoo!

But what's all this about downsizing on the blogging front? I'm with Lucy here - complaints will be made, you know.

Me again. The nice one who rocks. I'm in aggreement with them all too. Don't you dare think about having more sleep. Keep up the daily posts, twice daily even. Who cares if you haven't got anything much to say. It hasn't stopped you thus far has it?

It looks like a knitted version of a wooden matchstick to me.

Monkee maker, I knitted my K-nitticating spot all myself!

Would a bribe (something along the lines of an endless supply of RWC muffins, maybe) get you to stop your daily-blogging-stoppage?

ps: I'd tell you what my husband said when he saw your pic but it would certainly cause me to lose my "nice blogger" award. (Thanks for the vote of confidence!)

Oh, and speaking of that, if you hear what a meanie I really am from, say, my least-fav sister-in-law, do not believe a thin she says. The woman is crazy, I tell you - she's nuts!

is it wrong to be missing you already?

Your blog is great Monkee Maker! Not at all boring and really funny! Thanks for your comments on my blog, a wacom tablet is something I use for my illustrations. You draw onto it and it shows up on the computer screen. Google it as my explanation is a bit poor! :-)
