Love is in the air ....

Seventeen years ago today RGH plighted his troth to me and I promised to love, honour and obey .....

..... well ..... two out of three ain't bad .....

We've changed a lot since then .....

..... although I do still wear flowers in my hair as often as I can, obviously .....

I spent some time in the attic recently searching for our wedding album, just so that I could create this collage. Please try and remember that in 1991 it was absolutely fine to have MASSIVE brows .....

..... no really, it was .....

And in other celebratory news, it's also my Mum's birthday today ..... what with MiL's birthday on Valentine's Day and my Mum's on our anniversary, I think there's a conspiracy going on to ambush our love life!

I wanted to draw my Mum a little something with my tablet and pen (don't worry, I did send a proper card too), but I thought a monkee may be inappropriate. So I copied this photo of four monkeys instead ..... my siblings and I in our Sunday best (I'm the one with a piggy snout and a finger up it .....)

(hmm, I don't think I'll be giving up the day job anytime soon .....)

So Happy Birthday Mum, and Happy Anniversary RGH ..... I haven't brought you a card, but if you like, I promise to treat you to that thing you like .....

..... you know .....

..... that activity we both enjoy at least once a weekend .....

..... when we're alone .....

..... coffee and muffin .....

Congratulations on your anniversary. 17 years is quite a haul. I'm deliberately not laughing at the "massive brows" because it'll be time for my to share my wedding pics come July (10 yrs) and you just might get your own back ;)

Loving the card for your Mum. That tablet was money well spent ;)

Ahhhh the Brooke Shields eyebrows.

I remember NOT being able to get that look, being blonde and all.

BUT I do remember trying to pencil in some (peer presure) and looking more like Woody Allen! Those pictures have since been burned.

Happy Anniversary! Wouldnt you rather have castle cake and a coffee? Its just that I know where there's a load going spare. A substantial amount going spare actually. It was like laying bricks making them things I can tell you. See, I can slag them off in a comment box, have to be nice about them on my blog where the children might see.....

PS didnt know your RGH was married to Chris de Burgh. Oh, thats you under that eyebrown? Erm gorgeous x

Rach? Wouldn't the naked girl get cold on the motorbike? Or at the very least extremely uncomfortable?

Happy Anniversary MM and RGH - The eyebrow looks fine to me!

Happy anniversary.
Sharing it with Mum's birthday means that at least it will be remembered on the correct date! We can never remember when ours is, but it was finally confirmed last month when MiL brought some photos from the wedding around, we had none. I might even show them on the blog, lol.
Say Happy Birthday to Mum too.

Happy anniversary!

My mum and step dad got married on the exact same day believe it or not!! I remember it well - Grand National day, I was the unfortunate 14 year old bridesmaid in the sailor dress!!!

Maybe it was the year for excess facial hair? My step dad had a handle bar moustache though he swears it wasn't a handle bar....hehehe

Hope you've had a lovely day ;o)

Happy Anniversary!! (and Happy Birthday MM's Mum, of course!!) The photos are lovely (I'm all for the unplucked look, myself). You look like innocent souls who had no idea what would be in store for them in the future - all of those monkees... Ah, destiny.

I've given you an award on my blog, plus there's a photo you might like to see!

I have to say, I don't know how all these good people are able to comment on your brows, massive or otherwise... because I can barely see them underneath that super flowery head-garland! (also a very fashionable look in 1991 if I remember rightly: I was a bridesmaid that year and I think most of the bridal party had similar contraptions strapped to their heads. Although not the groom, obviously.)

But I'm rambling again. Suffice to say, thanks for sharing your photos, and I hope you both had a brilliant day yesterday. And I'm sorry I missed saying it on the day itself. Perhaps I can make up for it by being the first to wish you happy 18th wedding anniversary for next year? (Do let me know if by some freak chance someone's already beaten me to it.)
VCxx (who has not been drinking, despite all appearances to the contrary...)

PS I did a quick bit of research and discovered here that a modern 17th anniversary gift is furniture... so I was wondering... did RGH treat you to a trip to Ikea yesterday??

;o)

Going now...

I got married in 1992 and I've got the big eyebrows too!!! So do my sisters! We all said, "Why didn't anyone tell us?!!!" It must have been before brow grooming got so popular! You look so pretty, so don't think about that... very beautiful couple! Happy Anniversary... I hope it was great... you know ...the muffin and coffee!
