Running in heels

...... is something I'm really not very good at. In fact I find walking in heels a challenge. So yesterday, when I was forced coerced pressured hoodwinked bullied asked to attend a course ON MY DAY OFF, and this course was in a town far far away which involved me taking SIX TRAINS, the first of which was at FIVE A.M. and one of which I had to RUN FOR ..... IN HEELS ..... I was NOT a happy Monkee Maker.

I was out of the house for twelve hours, even though the course was only three hours long (oh and did I mention it was my day off??), but at one of the stations I had a forty minute wait so I thought I'd have a mooch around. The station was at Brockenhurst in the New Forest - the location of many a happy childhood camping holiday and I was pleased to see that it hasn't changed much - apart from loads more cars than I remember.

Brockenhurst ...... where your pony just hangs around outside your house waiting for you to come home.

(I didn't have my camera so this picture is from my phone)

I realise I sound quite bitter about the whole lack of a DAY OFF this week, but on the plus side, there was no housework to be done and look at all the monkey knit I did on the train(s) .....

Why, that's practically a whole one!

Anyway. Sorry about all those words. Here's the post I was meant to be doing before I started moaning ......

BLIND MUFFIN TASTING

..... on the left ..... a rather tasty raspberry and white choc chip muffin

..... in the middle ..... a rather hard stunt muffin

..... on the right ..... a rather gorgeous knitted muffin from Julie

Choose wisely little monkee ......

It was a tough choice (although the stunt muffin didn't get a look in, strangely), but 007 finally chose ......

Oh-oh.

I tried to remain calm, really I did, but in the end it was all too much and I may have kind of lost it a teeny tiny bit .....

CHOOSE AGAIN, MONKEE!!!

AND KNOW YOUR KNITTED PLACE!

No knitted monkeys were Only one knitted monkey was harmed in the making of this post

You should have said, I would have posted you my choc chip, peanut cookins. Or is that mookies? Either way, they looked like muffins and would have done the job. :o) x

You want to watch out MM. 007 may round up the stunt monkeees and set them about your person. I've seen the previous post. I know he has the will.

I've heard that monkee revenge is not a pretty sight, you know. Be afraid, be very afraid. :)

Blimey, poor you! Six trains over twelve hours starting at 5am sounds like a nightmare, even on a working day - on a day off, it sounds truly hideous!

(You still have the stunt muffin, I see. How is it not green and furry yet? Impressive...)

Hee hee hee - you are so naughty!
If only I'd known you'd be stuck in Brockenhurst for 40 mins I'd have popped on over with a muffin to cheer you up. Thanks for your words of support about acrylic wool - now I really will have to knit a monkey :o)
The only place better than Brockenhurst is Beaulieu where they have donkeys wandering the streets - maybe I should knit a donkey instead - I could become Donkee Dooer, although that's probably illegal.

Sounds like you had one of my 'fun days out' (dripping with sarcasm this one lol)... 6 trains in 12 hours don't sound too bad - but 5AM on your day off????? That's the stuff my nightmares are made of :S... I hate mornings at the best of times. Hope you've recovered...

How's 007's hand? Poor thing... he should have known better though lol.

PETA* just called to say that they are organizing a plan to save 007. It is not 100% yet but sounds as though he is going to be sent to live with an outstandingly wonderful American family. (Honestly, they are great people; the dad carves beautiful stone statues, the mom is a knitter, and the little boy, well we juct cannot say enough about how great he is!)

Will keep you posted of any updates.

ps: love the pony pic! Could the UK be MORE quaint? Just askin.

I'm having a bad day.....I can't see the blind muffin anywhere on your blog. However...I saw a great use for stunt monkeys on the Mochimochiland.com weblog...

Dear 007

If she's cruel to you again, come and live here with me. My person has just made a huge batch of chocolate chip cookies and when they're cold she's going to sandwich them together with ice cream, dip them in chocolate and then hand them out. Get over here quick before the bunnies or the pesky chameleons eat them all.

Love from

I was feeling sorry for you, until you stabbed 007 in the hand! What will you do if he sulks, and refuses to pose for any more pictures on your blog?!!

Quick - somebody call Monkey World - that's where all the ABUSED monkeys get taken to get over the MALTREATMENT they suffer at the hands of their MEAN owners!!

Don't be surprised if 007 is a little jumpy around baked goods for a while - ouch!

How come only 2 people have mentioned the horse in the comments !

I have to say it's not everyday there's a horse just standing on the pavement is there ! Totally barmy ..

Oh and you need to tell your employers there is only one 5 o'clock in the day and thats at tea time. Your very nice to have agreed to go. I'd definately have said no, unless the expenses of all those hours at double time totted up nice and high !
