Let the padding commence

Right. Well, work is going swimmingly on No. 12, but as I only have one pair of hands (obviously a design flaw at the human being planning stage) and I have to work in between the knitting (mutter, gripe, winge), and lets not even start on housework (cos I never do), it may take a little while before he/she/it makes his/her/it's debut.

So expect a week or so of padding. Alternatively, tune in again next week for a knitted monkey update. In the meantime ...... on with the padding!

Have you ever seen these?

They are Gu chocolate cheesecakes and they're divine. In fact they're better than that, they're exquisite. They make you eat them in tiny teaspoon fulls so that they'll last as long as possible and they make your lips squish right up while you suck the life out of each morsel and savour every tiny mouthful. Ahem. They're good, ok? Trust me.

I only ever buy them when they're on offer at a supermarket, which makes them even more special as when they're not reduced I just wander past them drooling so much that I hear people slipping up behind me.

I like them this much ........

Yes, I am very very greedy. I'm also slightly concerned about the number of glass ramekins that are cluttering up my cupboard.

And tomorrow I'll be talking about my obsession with bacon crisps. (I won't really ...... although just thinking about them is making my mouth water. Bacon crisps for breakfast. Is that wrong??)

Mmmm... pudding padding! I'm a big fan of reduced-price Gu too. It seems to taste even better when you haven't paid an arm and a leg for it.

Thanks for your words of good luck on the matter of my secret monkey. At the moment it looks a lot like an aubergine (only less purple), which I think is a good thing. And yes, t'Other Half did indeed come to the wool shop with me - and even carried the wool some of the way home! The fool.

*warning* over filling your cupboard with gu glass ramekins can lead to breakages. they leap from the open door to fall, very heavily, on your pile of plates waiting to be washed up (sewing + knitting lead to sloppy housework). A very expensive way to get out of doing the dishes!

Haha- I am indulging in breakfast in bed this morning, having stocked up on krispy kreme doughnuts last night, so I don't see any reason why you shouldn't have bacon crisps. No-one really wants toast and cereal anyway- BORING!!!

Bacon crisps for breakfast sounds fine - you need to worry when your Gu fix happens first thing in the morning too! I laughed at the thought of the people behind you slipping on the drool! How do you get to be so funny? I get very excited if anyone laughs at something I have said as it doesn't seem to happen very often!!!! Can't wait to see No.12 (although I do feel rather sorry for he/she/it as they can have no idea yet of what kind of home they are coming in to!)

mmm - gu. possibly the best thing in the world for a cold winters evening - particularly the hot chocolate souffles.

We use the ramekins for putting used teabags in, soaking peas before planting, putting dips in, squeezing glue into for crafting, and yet we still have hundreds of the things in the cupboard (says something about my pud habit I think!)

I love your monkeys (if that doesn't sound too odd). I've made crocheted amigurumi before, but have never knitted a creature - but now I am going to start ...

Glad to see there are fellow dessert aficionados out there!

A few things :- "pudding padding" - isn't that what I've got on my hips?

I am indeed a frazzle fancier but the ultimate bacon snack has to be Smiths Bacon Flavour Fries. They're the scruttocks!

lucy locket, you are funny! When I told RGH you think I'm amusing (blush), he cracked up!!

paper-and-string, what are these bloglines you mentioned a while ago and do I need them? Does an alarm go off on my PC when someone posts? Does that mean I don't need to compulsively check their blog?

And finally, am I actually allowed to comment on my own comments or am I embarrassing myself by breaking some blogging law that I don't know about?? All advice gratefully received.

commenting on your own comments is allowed in blogland as far as I am aware! By the way, on the subject of not being funny often, my sister was puzzled when I rang her a few weeks ago just to tell her that someone had thought I was funny on my blog - well it was a really big deal as far as I was concerned, one of those once every decade events, but she clearly didn't think it warranted a phone call!

Oooh and another thought - if you have "pudding padding" on your hips have I got a "wine waist"?

bloglines is a blog aggregator (big word, I'm a librarian so have to use them).

I use google reader which puts all the blogs I read in one place (looks kind of like an email programme) and I can see when a new post appears. I can label and sort them, and mark articles I like (so I don't have to keep searching back through hundreds of posts to find that particular knitting pattern I know I saw somewhere). Definitely worth signing up to one or the other if you read a lot of blogs (its very addictive).

OK I admit it,I too buy GU cheesecakes when they are on special offer, not just for the tempingly tasty dessert but specifically for the glass ramekin.my family think I'm mad! I indignantly say They're very useful actually!I think you could have a list of what they can be used for, just to prove my point! Nightlight holders
For dips
nibbles
Jam or butter(only for when we have visitors)
Making individual Cheesecakes(although I have not done it yet)
I'm running out of ideas) HELP!
